Affirmly
Affirmly — Privacy Policy
Effective date: 23 June 2026.
The short version
Affirmly helps you practice your affirmations out loud. The most personal part of that practice, your camera, your microphone, and your voice, never leaves your phone. Nothing you say is ever recorded, uploaded, or stored. The only things we keep are the account you create and the small, plain results of your practice: how many times you showed up, when, and the affirmations you chose to save. We do not sell your data, we do not track you across other apps, and there are no advertisers here.
Who we are
Affirmly (“Affirmly”, “we”, “us”) provides the Affirmly iOS app. If you have any question about your privacy or want to exercise any of the rights below, write to us at privacy@affirmly.ai.
What stays on your phone, always
During practice, Affirmly uses your camera so your face fills the frame like a mirror, and your microphone and on-device speech recognition so it can hear each affirmation and check the repetition off. All of this runs locally on your device. We never record video or audio. We never upload camera frames, audio, or a transcript of what you said. Speech recognition runs on your device. Your spoken words are never sent to us or to any other company. When your device cannot recognize speech on-device for your language, Affirmly falls back to letting you tap to confirm a repetition. It never quietly sends your audio somewhere else to do it.
What we collect and store
To give you an account and remember your practice, we store account and practice information on our backend hosted on Supabase. This includes your email address, display name if provided, optional profile photo, time zone, saved affirmations, focus areas, optional goal, optional age range, daily repetition targets, reminder settings, session start and finish times, one row per witnessed repetition, match scores for spoken repetitions, current streak, and your device push token for reminders. These are derived results only. They contain no audio, no video, and no transcript.
What we do not collect
We do not collect recordings of your voice, face, or surroundings; transcripts of what you say; location data; contacts; health records; photos beyond the profile picture you choose; advertising identifiers; tracking data across other apps or websites; or third-party analytics SDK data that watches how you use the app. Affirmly does not show ads and does not build an advertising profile of you.
When you use “Affirm with AI” (optional)
If you choose to use the AI feature that suggests affirmations, Affirmly sends the focus areas you select and the short note you type to Anthropic PBC, the company behind Claude, so it can write suggestions for you. We ask for your consent before this happens, and you can decline and still use everything else in Affirmly. Anthropic does not use this content to train its models per its commercial terms, and we never sell it. Nothing is saved as an affirmation until you choose to keep it.
Who else handles your data
We use a small number of trusted providers to run the service. Supabase hosts our database, authentication, and file storage. Apple provides Sign in with Apple and delivers push notifications through APNs. Anthropic PBC receives only the focus areas and note you type, and only when you use the optional AI feature. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.
How your data is protected and kept
Your data travels over encrypted connections using HTTPS. On our backend, row-level security means your account can only ever read and write its own rows, and access to the production system is limited. We keep your account and practice data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account from inside the app, we delete your account data. Backups may persist for a short, limited period before they cycle out.
Your choices and rights
You can see and edit your profile and affirmations inside the app, turn off reminders at any time, withdraw AI consent at any time, and delete your account from inside the app. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to request a copy of your data, correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to certain processing. Write to privacy@affirmly.ai and we will help. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
Affirmly is not directed to children. It is intended for users aged 13 and older, or 16 in some regions. We do not knowingly collect data from children under that age. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes to this policy and contact
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top and, for meaningful changes, let you know in the app. Continuing to use Affirmly after a change means you accept the updated policy. Questions, requests, or concerns: privacy@affirmly.ai.
